In the depths of winter I learnt that within me lay an invincible summer

It’s cold and we are amidst a global pandemic. Working for myself I have to admit the outbreak of covid has proven to be a most productive time however over January I felt my first mental struggles. They didn’t last long and with some proactive activeness in the workshop I was soon back on track fulfilling my weekly workshop jobs and keeping busy.

It was within this winter gloom that I has an overwhelming desire to be in the heat of summer, having spent every summer since I can remember being sun-beaten along the north Cornish coast with my family I have incredibly strong feelings whenever my mind wanders down to the south west, although the heat and culture of Europe is undeniably beautiful in every sense I truly believe that Cornwall is unbeaten in atmospheric elation. I wanted to escape and encapsulate these feelings within my humble wood workshop bang in the middle of the country.

I have always admired sea-scape resin art online and decided to give it a crack myself. I feel the amalgamation of raw characterful timber and a glimpse of summer compliment each part equally. and so I embarked on my first resin art series, the Cornwall series.

This series of wooden charcuterie come art pieces has turned out to be extremely popular and so If you are reading this having purchased one of my pieces, thank you. I’m sure you had no idea that you are bringing my mind and heart further south to better days.

Moving forward I have developed this series and will continue to do so, they have turned out to be a peaceful mantra each week. I have attached a couple of my favourite available pieces below for you to feast your eyes upon.

So the journey continues to an invincible summer.
